The number on the mod page has to be the Minecraft version your instance is running.

Get the mod running
Check the version and the loader first. Most installs fail on one of those two, before anything else is wrong.
Fabric, Forge, Quilt, and NeoForge do not load each other’s files.
Put the jar in the mods folder of that instance, then launch the game once.
The game will not start
- Move the mod you just added out of the mods folder.
- Launch again. If the world opens, that file is the one that failed.
- Read the loader on its HoneyMods page and compare it with the loader your instance uses.
- Put the file back only after those two match.
The mod is missing in-game
- Confirm the file is a .jar inside the mods folder, not still inside a zip on your desktop.
- A Forge jar in a Fabric folder does nothing. The page names the loader the file was built for.
- Restart the instance after adding the file. A world that was already open will not pick it up.
The version does not match
- Open the mod page and read the Minecraft line, not only the title.
- 1.21 and 1.21.1 are not the same file. Use the one your instance shows on its main screen.
- If your version is not listed, that mod does not have a build for it yet.
The download opened a page
- On a Dropbox page, use the download button there if the file did not start on its own.
- Save the .jar or .zip, then move only the jar into the mods folder.
- If the browser blocked the file, allow the download and run it again from the mod page.
A listing looks wrong
Write to support@honeymods.com with the mod name, the version on the page, and what is wrong. If the file is not the author’s work, say that in the same message.

Nothing matches that. Try “crash”, “loader”, or “version”.
Still stuck
Send one email. Include the details below so the answer can name the file that failed, instead of asking for them again.
- Mod name and the version written on its page
- Your Minecraft version and loader
- What you expected, and what happened instead
